Intermediate in FCAW welding is offered over 3 days (9-4pm/18 hours) or evenings 6 evening (6-9pm/18hours). Progression from the introduction package or for those who know which process they would like to enhance their skills from beginner to intermediate level.

Course Details:

• A 60-minute knowledge session covering the fundamentals of FCAW welding, auxiliary equipment and consumables
• Workshop induction
• Setup of welding machine and related equipment
• 8mm Carbon steel plate
  • Course outcome 1: multi run tee fillet in the PB position
  • Course outcome 2: multi run open corner in the PA position
  • Course outcome 3: multi run open corner in the PA position
  • Course outcome 4: multi run tee fillet in the PD position
  • Course outcome 5: multi run tee fillet in the PF position

• Welds are visually checked against BS EN 4872-1
• In-house certificate awarded upon successful completion of the program
• Progression onto the Intermediate MAG, MMA or TIG welding course or intensive FCAW course

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves will be provided.  Flame retardant overalls (if required) can be hired for £5 per session.  Each participate must provide their own steel toe cap footwear.  Ages 16+
